About
Who builds this, and why.
What this is
upgrade-gpu.com is an independent tool. It exists because "is my GPU upgrade actually worth it" doesn't have an honest, data-backed answer anywhere else — most GPU buying advice is either a generic tier list or a listicle that doesn't account for the card you already own.
It's a sister site to best-gpu.com, which shows the full GPU price/performance table across all markets.
Who's behind it
A small, independent operation — no editorial team, no sponsored placements, no manufacturer relationships. Rankings come from the formulas below, not from who paid for a listing. The site is kept up to date as pricing data, GPU models, and the goal-matching database grow.
Methodology, in one place
Every verdict on this site comes from the same two numbers: the Perf Index (a blend of 3DMark Time Spy and FP32 throughput) and % gain per £100 (how much faster you get per dollar spent). No sponsored placements, no manufacturer relationships influence rankings — see the FAQ for the full formulas.
How the site makes money
Amazon affiliate links. When you click "Buy on Amazon" and purchase, this site may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence rankings — see the affiliate disclosure for details.
